thanksgiving in the berkshires
23 November 2007Every year we try to come up to the berkshires to be with family for thanksgiving and so far our record is 100% It’s a beautiful area with amazing foliage and quiet except for the hunters who scared the shit out of us when we went on a walk 8 years ago. And now that we all have kids we go on long walks in the forest and even found a treehouse.
I am awaiting some other folks to come back with beer that I foolishly did not bring upĀ with me to wash down the wegmans chips that I have been downing.
The food at my sisters was amazing. Stuffing - whole wheat and regular, wild rice, roasted vegetables. But more importantly, I got to spend time wiith family and even played some texas hold ‘em with my cousins and nephews (who are really good).
The parade was fun too. I really must post pictures but with dial up here at the house it will just have to wait. Oh and by the way. The restaurants and food establishments at 50th and Broadway who didn’t let us in to use your bathrooms I just want to say that you are not cool and I will no longer be patronizing you so HA!
Got out for a run this morning with my brother in law. All that bike riding must be helping my uphill climbs. Cardio and legs both feel good.
I just picked up the book “everything is illuminated.” I will let you know how it is.
Signing off for shabbat. Shabbat Shalom from Massachusetts. (Did I spell that right?)
